“Rarity” and AJ!
Ponyville’s most premier fashion designer, “Rarity.” After traveling Europe and apprenticing with the haute couture visionaries of France and England––under the persona of a Shanghai socialite––she returned to the states a reinvented woman, leaving behind her past.
April-Jacqueline, the proud proprietor of the Apple Family Farm––a communal touchstone of Ponyville’s hootenannies and barn-burners, as well as the town’s largest orchard. A believer in Southern hospitality and an appreciator of applejack liquor, rodeos, and her Winchester rifle.
y'know, one thing i don’t see get talked about much in regards to asexuality is how it feels to never be ‘sexually motivated’ by anything
and not just when it comes to advertisements using 'sexy’ models to try and sell you stuff, but like. in general
sex as a favor, sex as a bribe, sex in exchange for whatever
casual sex, 'friends with benefits’ situations, even simple flirting
it all looks a whole lot different from the perspective of someone who’s immune to manipulation via sex appeal, who has virtually no understanding as to why sex would motivate someone to cheat on their partner, etc. etc.
sex is worthless to me
i mean, it’s useful as a story element in fiction, but it genuinely perplexes me that sex is such a driving force behind so many aspects of irl society & of people’s individual lives, for better or for worse
and that it’s so deeply ingrained into how the average person views the world & various situations, because the average person feels sexual attraction, whereas i do not
i think the barrier between aces & allos is actually even deeper than it seems on the surface at times, because it’s more than just the grating expectation that everyone must want to 'settle down’ and have kids, it’s also the fact that the majority of the world is sort of 'in’ on a joke that aces will never truly be a part of
Posts that validate my identity
Sex as a form of intimacy? Understand. Intimacy as enjoyable? Understand. Intimacy as vital? Understand. Sex as vital? Does not compute
Tumblr you can’t just put mutuals on blast like this i thought you were better than Twitter…
yeahhh psa that if your likes are set to public, they’re getting pushed onto your followers’ dashboards now with your username attached as liking it 🙃
Psa 2: you can disable this in settings! If you don’t want to see liked posts on your dash, go to settings and turn it off!
Ok, so how to do this is not straightforward and I don’t know what the people saying “Account -> Pages -> Likes toggled off” are talking about. Maybe “pages” is an app-only thing because I definitely don’t see anything called that.
It looks like on the web, you have to go https://www.tumblr.com/settings/blog and go down to the “Likes” option but I’m not sure.
You can also go to the settings gear icon and turn off “Include posts liked by the blogs you follow” if you’re seeing other people’s likes and don’t want to.
seeing analyses of nimona is fun because they have really good insights and are analysing every inch of this movie but in virtually all of them there is a gaping hole where the very obvious messages and metaphors in regards to race and racism in this film lay.
Like tell me, do you believe the story of a brown man, brought in by a black woman in an attempt to fix the systemic issues in a system where ancestry is valued over merit, is framed for the murder of said black woman by a white woman who is fueled by paranoia that a black woman’s efforts might upend the system, the supposed threat this brown man and of dangers that don’t exist and a desparation to fulfill the legacy of a white woman who is a literal metaphor for the way bigotry is taught (in particular homophobia/transphobia). And thus the brown man is villanised for something he didn’t do and is forced to find support and companionship in another victim of the system, with this story ending with the white woman willing to destroy everything than let the brown gay man and a trans girl change the system/her mind, has absolutely no racial implications or messages surrounding race.
i think kids online should really get back to making internetsonas instead of whatever fuckshit this is with putting their entire real faces, names, ages, and such everywhere. you’re not gonna realize how nice internet privacy is until you dont have it anymore and no chance at getting it back. make up a guy and a name and just be that online. make up conflicting details about your completely made up backstory. make a fursona or something
I mean, we knew, but it’s nice to hear so succinctly
Feeling kind of silly now…
